City Centre Development and Regeneration Projects

The Practice has successfully acted for a range of Clients on large scale and complex city centre and urban regeneration projects including:

  • Poolbeg West SDZ Planning Scheme:  Mixed use development on the former IGB and Fabrizia sites at Poolbeg providing for c.3,500 residential units and c120,000 sq m commercial floor area.  DBCL provided consultancy services as part of a multi-disciplinary team including O’Mahony Pike Architects and Arup Consulting Engineers.
  • Charlemont Street, Dublin 2:  Mixed Use Regeneration Project on a 2ha urban infill site incorporating social and private housing, employment, retail, leisure and community related uses. (PPP including Dublin City Council and Mcgarrell Reilly Developments).
  • Newmarket, Dublin 8: Major regeneration development on two sides of Newmarket Square incorporating residential, office, hotel, indoor market, microbrewery, and ancillary uses.
  • Dawson Street and Nassau Street, Dublin 2:  Redevelopment of Nassau House, 60-63 Dawson Street, and 34-39 Nassau Street for c.25,000 sq m of higher order comparison retail and office uses.
  • Old Jameson Distillery Site, Smithfield, Dublin 7.  Office development incorporating 7 storey office development of c. 30,000 sq m.
  • Little Mary Street and Little Brittan Street, Dublin 1:  Aparthotel Development in the historic Markets area of Dublin City Centre.
  • Major student accommodation developments at UCD Belfield (c3000 beds), Mill Street (c800 beds), Brunswick Street (c750 beds) and Summerhill (c400 beds).
  • Garryard House and Teach Earlsfort, Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin 2:  Redevelopment of existing office blocks for a seven storey office development of c.20,000 sq m.
